The Sangiovese of this DOC comes from a vineyard facing southwest, facing the Sibillini Mountains. The soil is clayey and the plant has 4,500 vines per hectare.
To complete the blend there are Montepulciano and a small part of Lacrima that come from two vineyards in the area called "Monti", a hill facing east that is affected by the breezes coming from the sea.
